Recently, a technology platform delved into a preview version of the Google Calling app, version 177.0.763181107-publicbeta-pixel2024, revealing a series of visual changes that the app is about to usher in. Although the design changes have not yet been officially announced, the researchers were able to get a glimpse into what the future would look like by activating the code.
This interface update focuses on caller ID and call control panels. On the caller screen, the user’s name and avatar are significantly enlarged to make them more eye-catching. The traditional round action buttons have been eliminated in favor of large, modern oval dynamic buttons that change shape when clicked, adding interactivity. The answer button retains its original circular design, while the hang up button has been transformed into a more distinct oval shape for quick identification.
In addition to the layout adjustments, the new interface has also been optimized in terms of information presentation. The “Caller From” text prompt has been removed, and the phone number is only displayed after the call is established to reduce interface interference. At the same time, the interactive menu has also been completely refactored to follow the latest design trends to improve the overall user experience.
It’s worth noting that the new interface also adds subtle dynamic effects to the contact avatar when a call comes in, making the whole interaction process more lively and smooth. This detail will undoubtedly further enhance the user’s call experience.
In order to visually illustrate the differences between the old and new interfaces, a comparison chart is also provided. The changes between the current version of the interface on the left and the new interface coming soon on the right are clear at a glance.
