According to U.S. media reports: Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said on Thursday that aircraft deliveries to China will resume next month after a suspension in the trade war with the Trump administration, as he shrugs off the impact of-for-tat tariffs with some of the largest trading partners in the United States this year.
Mr. Altberg had said last month that China had suspended deliveries.
“China has now said …… They’ll accept delivery,” Ortberg said. The first deliveries will take place next month,” he said at the Bernstein conference on Thursday.
Boeing, the largest U.S. exporter whose aircraft production helps ease the U.S. trade deficit, has been paying tariffs on parts imported from Italy and Japan for its wide-body Dreamliner built in South Carolina, Mr. Altberg said, adding that most of it could be recouped when the planes were re-exported.
